Advocacy & Policy

Community health is often underfunded and overlooked. There’s a huge opportunity to bridge the healthcare gap and ensure children thrive by better supporting community health workers (CHWs) to deliver quality care directly to families. At Living Goods, we use evidence to influence decision-makers to create, finance, and implement policies that strengthen and scale effective, government-led community health programs.

Our advocacy efforts focus on shaping policies and practices at the global, regional, national, and subnational levels, especially around governance, financing, and implementation of community health services. We provide frameworks for resource allocation to support policies that prioritize community health.

Partner with Like-Minded Organizations

We work with coalitions and campaigns to promote community health within the larger global health agenda, including Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our key partnerships include the Frontline Health Workers Coalition, Africa Frontline First, Global Health Council, and Community Health Units for Universal Health Coverage (CHU4UHC). We are also a founding member of the Community Health Impact Coalition, uniting with others to powerfully advocate for professional community health workers to become the norm worldwide.

Inform Policy

We share data and insights to shape policies and frameworks in the countries where we work and beyond. By collaborating with policymakers and partners, we influence the development of policies, legislation, and guidelines that support strong community health systems at all levels.

Bridge National and Global Agendas

To ensure global policy discussions reflect local realities, we actively participate in global and regional platforms. We work to ensure that the voices of communities are heard and considered in policy development.

Amplify Community Health Worker Voices

We support CHWs to advocate for themselves, pushing for better compensation, training, supervision, and tools.

Build Champions for Community Health

We engage governments and multilateral institutions to advocate for policies that improve the quality, reach, and efficiency of community health services. We also work to secure resources that help scale these efforts.
