Busia County Government is eager to establish a close partnership with Living Goods and other partners to ensure the complete digitization of all Community Health Promoters (CHPs). Recently, we participated in a meeting to develop the Health Sector Strategic and Investment Plan in Kakamega, with the support of Living Goods and other partners.
Our primary objective during this meeting was to incorporate the digitization of community services, health financing, and capacity building for both CHPs and CHAs into this significant document. This plan outlines the departmental roadmap for the next five years, aligning with the goals of the County Integrated Development Plan.
Busia holds a central position in our initiatives, as it serves as a hub for innovations and research that informs our advocacy and policy recommendations when collaborating with national governments. Living Goods is enthusiastic about scaling eCHIS beyond our initial learning site sub-counties, contingent upon an agreed co-financing arrangement.
During the meeting, Deputy Governor H.E. Arthur Odera expressed his commitment to securing additional funding for Community Health Services (CHS) and fostering a conducive environment for partnerships. With our proven track record in performance management and our experience in digitizing Community Health Workers (CHWs) while working alongside governments in Kenya, Uganda, and Burkina Faso, Busia County is eager to collaborate with Living Goods to achieve the full digitization of community health services.
Notable attendees at the meeting included Director of Health Dr. Lutomia, Chief Officer Health Dr. Susan Outa, Director Curative Dr. Ambuchi, and others.
