New Partnership Boosts Community Health Workers in Manga, Burkina Faso

A groundbreaking collaboration between Living Goods and the Manga District Health Office, in Burkina Faso, has been formalized, marking a significant milestone in enhancing community health services in the region. The agreement, signed on 8th October, was witnessed by regional authorities, community health workers (CHWs), and Living Goods representatives at the Manga urban CSPS.

One of the key highlights of the event was the distribution of essential supplies to CHWs, including buckets, handwashing devices, medicines, image boxes, and other vital equipment. This donation, valued at over 30 million CFA francs, underscores Living Goods’ unwavering commitment to empowering CHWs in their vital role of providing healthcare to local communities.

Mr. Souleymane Gaye, Living Goods Country Director, emphasized the organization’s dedication to improving access to healthcare for mothers and children through innovative digital solutions. “This new agreement, spanning from July 2024 to December 2026, reaffirms our commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC),” he stated. “It will enable us to train health workers in digital tools, ensure quality care through continuous supervision, motivate CHWs with performance-based incentives, and promote sustainable innovation.”

The High Commissioner of the region, Mr. Auguste Ouedraogo, expressed his gratitude to Living Goods for their ongoing support, which will undoubtedly revitalize community health services. He also called for a quarterly coordination framework to strengthen collaboration and accountability among stakeholders.
