On April 3, 2025, at the Skoll World Forum, the Community Health Impact Coalition (CHIC) proudly received the Skoll Award for Social Innovation! This prestigious honor recognizes organizations that drive transformational social change, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see CHIC’s impact acknowledged on this global stage.

At Living Goods, we stand alongside our fellow CHIC members in reshaping the narrative around community health. Through radical collaboration, we have been driving meaningful systems change and working to make health accessible to all.

As a founding member of CHIC, we have witnessed the coalition grow from just six organizations in 2019 to a thriving global movement that spans over 60 countries. Together, we are influencing donors, governments, and stakeholders to adopt high-impact community health design principles that are transforming primary healthcare worldwide.

We are celebrating some major wins in establishing a strong enabling environment for community health, recognized by this global honor:

  1. In 2018, we contributed to sharpening the World Health Organization’s first global Community Health Worker (CHW) policy guidelines, embedding seven of CHIC’s eight best practices to strengthen CHW programs and promote universal health coverage.
  2. We played a role in updating the USAID and UNICEF CHW AIM tool in 2018, which has improved CHW programs in Kenya, Uganda, and beyond.
  3. We launched the #CountCHWs campaign and co-developed the first-ever CHW Master List (CHWML) implementation guide to ensure accurate CHW data for better planning, equity, and pandemic response.

Amplifying CHW voices is crucial for driving meaningful policy change. We are proud to support CHIC’s CHW Advocates course, where nearly 6,000 graduates are actively working to find solutions to the key challenges facing CHWs and their patients.

Today, we celebrate this incredible milestone and the tireless efforts of all those dedicated to advancing community health. This award is more than just recognition; it is proof that change is happening, and we are honored to be a part of it.

As Dr. Madeleine stated in her speech during the awards, the choice we all face is clear:

“Connect. Collaborate. And win.”

Together, we are not just advocating for change—we are making it happen.
