Scaling access to life-changing products

Thanks to significant medical and technological breakthroughs we now have the solutions to save and change the lives of millions of people living in poverty. Products like anti-malaria treatments, clean-burning cook stoves, fortified foods, and solar lamps can dramatically improve the health and wealth of people who survive on just a few dollars a day. But these products do little good if they don’t reach the people who need them most. And as it stands today, roughly 270 million people in Africa still lack access to life’s most essential products. Now more than ever, we need an efficient, scalable, and sustainable system to deliver these life-saving and life-changing products to the world’s poor. This is the gap Living Goods aims to fill.

We seek nothing less than a reinvention of distribution in the developing world.

We believe that the poor are not helpless victims; they are resilient entrepreneurs and value conscious consumers.  We empower the poor through our networks of ‘Avon-like’ micro-entrepreneurs who go door-to-door teaching families how to improve their health and wealth while selling a broad assortment of affordable, life-changing products. We seek nothing less than a disruptive reinvention of distribution in the developing world, through networks of franchised micro-entrepreneurs who leverage Living Goods’ brand, buying power and marketing tools to deliver vital products at accessible prices to the people who need them most. By combining the best practices from the worlds of micro-enterprise, franchising and public health, Living Goods is creating a fully sustainable system to improve the health, wealth, and productivity of the world’s poor.

Living Goods, which seeks to be fully self-funded at scale, holds the promise of producing meaningful results on a meaningful scale that is not currently feasible given resource constraints. Populations served by Living Good’s operations, partnerships, and replicators will benefit from lower prices and greater access to a wide range of pro-poor products in health, nutrition, energy, and agriculture. Thousands of empowered women will serve their home villages, own a business, and earn a decent income. And millions of poor families will suffer fewer childhood deaths and enjoy longer, healthier, and more productive lives.
