Living Goods is pleased to announce key Board of Directors transitions that advance our vision and reinforce our commitment to strong, effective, and locally grounded governance. These changes reflect our long-term strategy and mark an important step in our journey to deepen locally rooted leadership at every level of the organization while ensuring continuity, rigorous oversight, and unwavering mission alignment.

Thank you, Cheryl Scott
After nine years of dedicated service, our Vice Chair, Cheryl Scott, is stepping down from the Board. Cheryl has been a trusted advisor and a steady source of wisdom throughout a period of organizational growth and transformation. She has been instrumental in uniting the Board around a shared vision. Among many contributions, she championed the leadership transitions both at organizational and Board levels. We are grateful for her leadership and commitment to our mission.
New Co-Chair Leadership Model
To further our commitment to African-led governance, we are introducing a new co-chair leadership model. This governance shift is an intentional milestone in our localization journey.
We are pleased to announce that the Board has elected Henrietta Bankole-Olusina and Chuck Slaughter to serve as our first Co-Chairs. As Living Goods’ founder and former Board Chair, Chuck brings deep institutional experience, while Henrietta brings continent-rooted expertise and a proven track record in shaping systems that improve lives across Africa.
She has governance experience from her work on multiple national committees and advisory boards and has spent her career shaping systems that improve lives across Africa. Henrietta has worked closely with government stakeholders in Nigeria to advance financial inclusion and regulatory reforms that expand access to digital financial services and currently serves as Vice President, Africa, at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA). We are honored to have Henrietta and Chuck stepping into these new roles.
Expanding Locally Led Governance
Localization is central to our identity, and Henrietta’s appointment as Board Co-Chair builds on several milestones that emphasize our commitment to being an Africa-led organization. With 96% of our staff based in Africa, including most of our leadership, our evolving Board structure now mirrors the ethos of proximity, representation and shared leadership. We remain committed to partnering with governments and delivering high-impact health solutions in Africa and are continuing to build out our Board to support our mission.
