The County Government of Kisumu and Living Goods have renewed their partnership through a three-year addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) originally signed in 2020. The renewed agreement, effective from 12 November 2025, underscores a continued commitment to strengthening community health systems and improving access to quality primary healthcare for all Kisumu residents.

A Technical Assistance Partnership for Long-Term Impact
Under the new agreement, Kisumu County and Living Goods will collaborate through a Technical Assistance Partnership model designed to build county-level capacity, reinforce quality assurance mechanisms, and support systems strengthening across the community health program.
A central feature of the addendum is a phased graduation roadmap. This roadmap outlines clear technical, operational, and financial milestones to guide the county’s transition toward full ownership and long-term sustainability of community health services.
County Commitment to Sustainable Community Health
The County Government has committed to embedding community health financing into its annual budget, ensuring the timely payment of Community Health Promoters (CHPs), and equipping frontline health workers with essential tools and commodities. These efforts will help institutionalize community health and ensure the program’s continuity and effectiveness.

Living Goods’ Role in Supporting County Leadership
Living Goods will continue providing:
🟣 Capacity building for county teams
🟣 Strengthening community health systems
🟣 Optimizing digital health tools for service delivery
🟣 Supporting the planning and budgeting required for long-term sustainability
These contributions aim to empower Kisumu County to independently manage and sustain high-quality, government-led community health services.
Shared Goals for a Stronger Community Health Ecosystem
Both parties will jointly implement a three-year community health strategy, co-design performance metrics to monitor progress, and coordinate partner efforts to minimize duplication and maximize efficiency.

A Renewed Vision for Community Health
This renewed partnership reinforces the shared vision of delivering equitable, people-centered primary healthcare and promoting a stronger, more resilient community health system in Kisumu County.
